I am trying to speed the performance of logins in a library. We have about 1000 students logging on and off of these computers. I will list info about our environment below.
The computers are laptops that connect wireless to the domain controllers. The laptop image was made from Windows 7 Pro Volume License CD and all drivers are up to date and installed from Dell's website. The image was made in audit mode and I used sysprep with an answer file to make the image unattended. I also wanted to use sysprep to set the copy profile = true in the answer file so I could setup like profiles for the students and get rid of some annoying software popups. I ran Sysprep and then pushed the images out using Dell Kace 2000 server.
The main problem with the laptops is it takes about 30 to 60 seconds for first time student login to the computers. After the student profile is created and they log in again it only takes about 5 seconds. The students in our environment have group policy and folder redirection applied.
I have looked through the logs and tried this forum and came up with nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.
