PLEASE...I need assistance.  Starting early this morning...I started to receive a small  box with the message:
"The application is not responding.  The program may respond again if you wait.
Do you want to end this process?

It appears to be speaking of microsoft windows.  It has taken over my machine.

Windows 7 keeps preparing your desktop on reboot

computer work fine until after it is joined to our Domain.  When I initially log on the desktop is prepared and all is fine.  After a reboot, Windows states "Preparing your desktop" once again.  When the machine comes up Aero is disabled.  The messages "Failed to connect to a Windows Service.  Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client Service.  This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system."  Also the error message "C:\Windows\system\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable."  When trying to start anything like Device Manger, Computer Management, Services I receive the message "The dependency service or group failed to start."  Once this takes place, the computer does this no matter who logs on, Domain or Local.  I've rebuilt this machine, using Windows 7 Professional 5 times with the same result.  Each time I log on to the Domain and after a reboot this happens.

Super slow Windows 10 logon

Hi!

Recently, logon process on my Win 10 desktop computer is slowed down to 7 to 10 minutes.

Before that, logon takes less than a 30 sec.

SSD boot disk, Intel I5 processor, single comp not in any domain.

In the Event Viewer - Application Win Log I have following warning:

The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> took xxx second(s) to handle the notification event (Logon).

Where xxx is number around 500 seconds.

Event ID is 6006

Any idea?

"Ease of Access - Make the Mouse Easier to Use" will not turn off Auto-maximize

I have a dual monitor setup and any window that I drag over to the right hand monitor gets auto-maximized. A red border appears around that monitor when I position a window (any window) in it. The left hand monitor works normally. I can make the window smaller, but if I try to move it from the top of the monitor or from the left side then it auto-maximizes.

This problem does not occur if I log onto my wife's user account, so it must be something in the settings for my account.

I see many people asking how to turn off the snap feature, and I have checked the "Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged..." box in the "Ease of Access" item in the control panel" - but this does not fix the problem. My tale of woe seems a bit different than what I have seen described in various forums.

Has anyone seen this problem and solved it?

Anyone have an idea what below means. I've been crashes whenever playing games regarding my Graphics Hardware according to the Event View information. I've tried everything from Tdr setting in registry, to graphics settings, to underclocking gpu, to new GPU, fresh windows install, etc. I've RMA'd my GPU as well as full windows reinstall and I still get crashes within the error which leads me to believe it may be hardware related, but I can't tell. Whenever I crash in games, it seems it always follows a LiveKernalEvent error in Event Viewer. Is there any way to tell which component could be causing this, or any software? I've ran dism/sfc scan/chkdsk/memtest/cpu and gpu bencharmarks and were all fine. I've replaced PSU, played games with each RAM stick individually, RMA'd GPU where both graphics card were crashing with same error.

I am attempting to configure a multiple monitor display set-up for a desktop computer. I have DVI,HDMI and a display port. The computer will recognize only two at a time. I have swithced ports on each computer to make sure the cables and connectio are functioning, unfortunately my third monitor does not have a signal. In the past all monitors worked. Additionally, I have done

Control Panel>Screen Resolution>Display(choosing the third monitor)>Multiple Displays>extend desktop to this display > Save

To receive Unable to sav display settings

Question:

Are there any fixes for the above scenario? Please advise

Thanks in advance

usn journal verification completed, then hangs

I have a Windows 7 box where the hard drive appears to have crashed.  I removed the drive and connected it to another Windows 7 box and ran chkdsk with both (at different times) the /f and /c switches.  Both times it gets to the Usn Journal verification completed (having reported no errors) but then hangs.  It will hang for hours until I finally close down the command prompt.  Any ideas?  I've searched most help areas and can't seem to find a reason as to why this is happening.  I'll get a new drive if this is bad, but if not.....

Thanks for your help....

Can't Click on desktop Icons

After the computer has been running for a while I am no longer able to click on icons. A restart will work or ending explorer.exe BUT THIS IS NOT A FIX. I need something that will prevent this from happening in the future rather than continuous having to work around it. The computer is update, everything runs smoothly and the hard drive is no where close to full (70 GB used of 500 GB). If anyone has any explanation for the cause and the way or a way to fix it AND PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN I am all ears.

How to manually remove Windows Update KB976902

$

I've been experiencing with Windows Update KB976902 causing printer spooler errors and repeated blue screen system crashes on multiple hard drives for this one system.  The printer spooler errors first occurred back in 2010 right after an automatic download and install of Windows Update KB976902.  I personally have done extensive online research over the years to source a permanent resolution to this problem and the final conclusion is to permanently delete/ remove/ uninstall Windows Update KB976902.  Problem is, once this update is installed, it cannot be removed.  Now I have made many aggressive attempts to remove this update like executing command prompt "wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:976902" will not uninstall the update.  A system restore to an earlier point will not remove the update.  Complete deletion and fresh reinstall of the Windows OS will not remove this update either.  I even attempted to tinker around in regedit to find and remove, as you expect, my knowledge of navigating around in the OS registry is extremely limited thus I'm incapable of removing the update using this method.  I made several exhausting attempts to locate the file destination via command prompt and really couldn't figure that out.  Cannot locate the folder/ file location of this update anywhere on the OS other than the Programs and Features location.  View Installed Updates does not provide any option for uninstall.

I recently did and complete wipe and reinstall of the Windows 7 OS and selected "ask later" for allowing Windows Updates and have not connected to the internet, at all.  Wiping of the OS included performance a full erase of the entire OS and removal from the HDD.  The OS install is completely fresh from the OEM installation disc that came with the laptop of it's initial purchase.  About as clean of an OS install as you can get and guess what, Windows Update KB976902 is the only software showing as installed on the OS.  I've done this on more than one hard drive on the same laptop with the same undesired result.

All of my attempts to permanently remove this problematic/ troublesome windows update have proven futile.  This update really needs to be completely removed as it is the root cause of my ever existing printer spooler errors.  Any fixes of the printer spooler are temporary band aids at best, none are permanent solutions other than the complete removal of this Windows Update.  This update is also causing frequent regular blue screen system crashes.

Dell Studio 1747 17" laptop i7 1.73GHz Intel QuadCore (8 Cores) Windows 7 OS 8GB RAM 750 Hybrid Solid State HDD BIOS Version: A14 Phoenix SecureCore.

I've previously read documentation from other another online forum post (no longer able to find that particular post) that state this particular issue could be a result of an internal conflict with the BIOS, something about the drivers for the BIOS may be corrupt or in conflict with this particular update.  Not really sure since I have no way of knowing how to troubleshooting the BIOS.

Before anyone answers, "this update is necessary in order for Windows to operate", this is the furthest thing from the truth.  My laptop was running SUPERB without any issues/ problems before this update was automatically installed.  The moment it got installed, been running like cramp every since.  So I refuse to believe any propaganda about this update being necessary for the Windows OS to operate.

If anyone and I mean who has already figured out a way to remove this pesty update, by all means please chime right in.
